Market developments prompted our client to adopt a cost-down approach. At the beginning of the project, 80% of the annual demand was produced in the "Far East" and after the successful completion of the project, the production capacity in Switzerland was secured and expanded. The aim of this project was to increase competitiveness, integrate new production technologies and achieve an increase in quality and efficiency throughout the entire value-added process.

A change from conventional injection moulding to micro injection moulding took place.
The number of cavities in the mould was reduced from 16 to 8.
The sprue volume per part was reduced by 93.5
The OEE increased from 48% to 87%
The bottom line is that a cost reduction of 72% was achieved.
